The CrankTank 3 is a lightweight and rigid high capacity hydration system that fits on nearly any triangular hardtail bike, such as MTBs, gravel bikes and road bikes, and allows you to carry up to 0.8 gallons/3 liters of water. Compared to its big sister, the CrankTank 4, the CrankTank 3 is a bit smaller in size, has a narrower Q-Factor and features an edgier design.
The CrankTank kit includes everything you need to strap it on the bike and set out on your next adventure. The standard kit comes with a top-loading clip to hold your hydration tube in place when not in use. For other clip options, take a look at our CrankTank Accessories.
Similar to frame bags, rubbing between CrankTank and frame can occur over time and we recommend installing either a pair of our CrankTank Frame Adapters or alternatively wrap the areas of contact with some protective tape, such as helicopter tape for example, to protect the frame. Frame Adapters can also help with fitting the CrankTank onto some more exotic shaped or large down and seat tubes.
We are proud to say, that our CrankTanks are hand-made right here in sunny California where we are based.
Features
Features
The CrankTank is a great companion for bike touring, bikepacking, ultra distance racing and when riding on hot days or in remote areas. Utilizing two simple Velcro straps, installation/removal takes less than a minute and thanks to the CrankTank's ideal placement above the bottom bracket, the point of gravity is kept low and bike handling is not affected.
Compared to a full frame bag, there is no leg rub as the CrankTank keeps its shape, even when completely full, water levels are visible at all times (applies to all available colors) and thanks to its sturdy design, accidentally pinching your water bladder is not something you will have to worry about.
Due to the efficient use of space and its single chamber design, the CrankTank also offers the potential for weight savings compared to mounting bottles and cages in multiple places across the bike to achieve the same capacity.

Cranktank is a niche product so it took me a while to find it as most xxlbottles are bladder type. The tank fits snug, its low gravity point keeps bike balanced.
Super staff you have made....can not wait to try on our long bikepacking trip in China in September this year.....
I have been using a CrankTank 4L since 2021, mostly for long bikepacking trips. I had been thinking about getting the smaller one for shorter rides or to put on the road bike for a while now. The limited color won me over to finally order. I had to pay an additional 35% to the customs office when ordering from Europe but it's still worth it. There is hardly any comparable product. I put a manual valve on the hose so I am able to syphone water from the tank straight into my cooking gear or into another bottle. The CrankTank has become a staple of my bikepacking setup, especially when riding in/to the South of Europe, because I like to stay away from paid accomodation and rather camp out but still want to be able to bring enough water to drink and cook and maybe even clean myself. There are no major issues with the product, if you want to fit as much water in your frame as possible, you won't regret the purchase.
Love this CrankTank! I’ve had multiple hydration setups and wanted something that could maximize my space and still run a bag in the frame. This fit the bill
Excellent Product. Works great. Fits perfect in the frame. Also, sucking up water from the tank is very easy. Highly recommended.
