The CrankTank 3 is a lightweight and rigid high capacity hydration system that fits on nearly any triangular hardtail bike, such as MTBs, gravel bikes and road bikes, and allows you to carry up to 0.8 gallons/3 liters of water. Compared to its big sister, the CrankTank 4, the CrankTank 3 is a bit smaller in size, has a narrower Q-Factor and features an edgier design.
The CrankTank kit includes everything you need to strap it on the bike and set out on your next adventure. The standard kit comes with a top-loading clip to hold your hydration tube in place when not in use. For other clip options, please head over the our CrankTank Accessories Page. For more exotic down and seat tube shapes, as well as carbon fiber frames, we recommend taking a look at our CrankTank Frame Adapter.
We are also proud to say, that our CrankTanks are hand-made right here in sunny California where we are based.
Features
Features
The CrankTank is a great companion for bike touring, bikepacking, ultra distance racing and when riding on hot days or in remote areas. Utilizing two simple Velcro straps, installation/removal takes less than a minute and thanks to the CrankTank's ideal placement above the bottom bracket, the point of gravity is kept low and bike handling is not affected.
Compared to a full frame bag, there is no leg rub as the CrankTank keeps its shape, even when completely full, water levels are visible at all times (applies to all available colors) and thanks to its sturdy design, accidentally pinching your water bladder is not something you will have to worry about.
Due to the efficient use of space and its single chamber design, the CrankTank also offers the potential for weight savings compared to mounting bottles and cages in multiple places across the bike to achieve the same capacity.

I found The CrankTank extremely useful for long rides — especially those where you’re not quite sure when the next water stop will be. It fit perfectly on my Canyon Grail, and the setup was super easy and intuitive. Honestly, I wish I’d had it during my last long race!
I am now hydrated, clean and cool thanks to the CrankTank system.
I bought both the CT 3 and the CT 4. (I have two bicycles, both 'Bike Friday' folders) The tanks are thick and confidence-inspiring. The wide molded-in cutouts secure a full tank, even when bouncing the bicycle sideways.
I use one of the provided hook/loop straps and one 'ski strap' to keep some elastic tension on the Tank. (I put a very small carpet remnant to pad the hinge on this type of bicycle)
Thanks Again! -EY
Amazing! Makes it a lot easier to drink enough during long rides. The only downside is that it's hard to really tighten the straps, and if there's room movement/rattling the tank will eventually damage the paint (even with the protection rubbers). Going to try to add some extra rubber or maybe try different straps.
Great product!!
Rides secure on the bike with a full load of water. Easy to drink from while riding.
